Antonia Gentry Network

Antonia Bonea Gentry is an American actress who was born on September 25, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. Antonia is most recognized for her role as Virginia “Ginny” Miller in Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia (2021 – Present). Other notable roles include Prom Dates (2024) and Time Cut (2024).

EARLY YEARS

Antonia grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with her parents. Her dad is American (white) and her mom is Jamaican (black). Antonia has spoken about her biracial identity, the importance of representation and how it has helped her with her role in Ginny & Georgia.

Gentry says she wanted to be an actress since the age or 5 and used her high school and college years to pursue the career. Antonia attended John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School (in Augusta, Georgia) where she studied Theater. She continued her studies at Emory University (also in Augusta, Georgia) where she was a member of the comedy-improv troupe, Rathskellar Comedy Improv Group. Antonia graduated in 2019 with a Bachelors of Art (BA) degree.

CAREER

While still in high school, Antonia starred in a couple of local public service announcement videos including, Don’t Text and Drive (2014), Underage Drinking & Driving (2015). A year later, Antonia landed her first short film, Lone Star Mason (2015/2016). While in college, Antonia participated in another short film called Group Project (2017). Towards the end of her college career, Gentry was balancing her classes and auditioning for various roles and had a small role in Candy Jar (2018). She also had a small role in the Netflix series, Raising Dion (2019).

During the same week of graduating from Emery University, Antonia had gotten the audition for Ginny & Georgia. She had gotten the role of Ginny and the show has been streaming on Netflix since 2021. Ginny & Georgia currently has 3 seasons released (as of June 2025) and season 4 is in the works.

Between the two year wait for season 3 of Ginny & Georgia, Antonia starred as a lead role in 2 films. This includes Prom Dates, where she played Jess and Time Cut as Summer Field — both 2024 movies.

OTHER VENTURES

Antonia has promoted many brands since her breakthrough in 2021. She has posted many Instagram ads and partnerships with various brands including, Celine, Miu Miu, Crocs, Ugg, Uniqlo Canada, Mame Kurogouchi, and Loro Piana.

Gentry has been partnering with Armani Beauty since 2021 being a part of many campaigns. She has promoted their Lip Power lipstick and Luminous Silk products.

In 2021, Antonia teamed up with Aerie to be a part of their Real Voices campaign. Following in 2024, Gentry teamed up with Warby Parker for the 2024 Spring Collection, Aveda for their Be Curly product campaign, and Organic Basics. Antonia created her own collection of wardrobe basics including active wear, underwear and other clothing essentials with the help of Organic Basics. Gentry has teamed up with Carolina Herrera to promote their various perfumes and elixirs.

PERSONAL LIFE

Since college, Antonia has moved to New York City and spends a lot of time in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) to film Ginny & Georgia. Antonia adopted a cat during her college years named Butterworth (Butter for short) and another one during the 2020 quarantine.
